RAMADAN DAY 2 - 3RD TARAWEEH

RAMADAN DAY 2 - 3RD TARAWEEH

Once again the entire family was up before the crack of dawn to perform sehri (breakfast). Breakfast consisted of dates and water, post toasties / weetbix with milk, toast and coffee.

As a family we quickly synchronized with the routines for Ramadhan which started when we lined up at the bathroom to take ablution for the morning prayer of Fajr.

Since Friday is a normal working day, it was back to braving the early morning traffic on the way to work as usual.

During the 3rd Taraweeh tonight we were fortunate enough to start the fourth Juz of Qur'an il-Kareem. There were so many beautiful verses recited but the the verse I feel has the greatest impact for me is. Bir and Taqwa ....

RAMADAN DAY 3 - 4TH TARAWEEH

RAMADAN DAY 3 - 4 TH TARAWEEH

Today is Friday, better known to Muslims as Youm ul-Jumu'ah which means day of congregation.

Youm ul-Jumu'ah is the sabbath day for Muslims and considered the best day of the week because its the day that Allah create Nabie Adam (pbuh) and will be the day on which the world will end.

This friday Today falls in the best month of the year because Ramadhan is considered the best month of the year.

Jumu'ah hutbah was completed.

Sataalul Jumu'ah was performed and half of Surah Jumu'ah was recited in the ist Rakah and the remainder in the second Rakah.

Taraweeg
By now we are at the Fourth Juz / Surah Nisaa' which is dedicated to the rights women all over the world from Eve to the last women . It expounds on rights that Islam gives women which they never had under the period of darkness when they were considered a commodity that could be inherited from one man to another.

This was essentially the women's fate in pre-Islamic Arabia and more so in the Western World were women could not own property and were burnt as witches because of male prejudice.
